Jill M. Smith

Jill Smith is a Purposepreneur with a moral compass. With over 25 years of experience as an internal and external relations professional in the nonprofit industry, Jill has led initiatives from every aspect of the public sector—from grassroots organizations and professional associations to federal, state, and local governments. This multi-faceted experience has positioned Jill as an expert in cause-related marketing and nonprofit management.
In her role as Chief Operations Officer and Nonprofit Strategist for The Smiths Serves, LLC, Jill advises clients on developing sustainable programs, attracting stakeholders, and creating buzzing communities on social media. Under her leadership, Jill has spearheaded countless programs and projects; developed public relations strategies that have resulted in national media exposure, funding, partnerships, and policy changes, and; has taken ordinary people from visionaries to sought-after subject-matter experts. Jill’s savvy and persistence have resulted in clients being invited to speak at the White House, before congress, and in front of massive live audiences on five (5) continents; appearing on, and featured in, CNN, HLN, Nightline, BBC, BET, TVOne, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Forbes, Ebony, USAToday, LA Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post and; have been nationally recognized with countless accolades, honors and awards for their contributions to society.
Prior to entrepreneurship, Jill served as a program manager for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Washington, DC. In this role, Jill was entrusted by the director to create a multi-million dollar family enrichment program under a then new healthy families initiative that included, but was not limited to, developing policies and procedures, providing management and technical support to grantees funded under the program, and representing the program at hearings on Capitol Hill. Jill also served as a grant proposal panel reviewer and facilitator for many HHS programs making recommendations to approve/decline Federal grant funding.
Jill holds a Master of Science in Administration (M.S.A.) degree in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Nonprofit Management and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication/Public Relations. In addition, Jill serves alongside her husband, Terence Smith, as co-founders of A God-Ordained Union, a faith-based private foundation serving singles desiring marriage.

Terence Smith is a dedicated and accomplished professional, with a diverse background in both military service and manufacturing. As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Terence served his country with honor and distinction, gaining valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. After completing his service in 2003, Terence transitioned into the manufacturing industry, where he found his passion for process improvements and quality control.
Certified in Lean and Six Sigma, Terence demonstrates his commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing efficiency in manufacturing operations. With his expertise in these methodologies, Terence has successfully led numerous projects to streamline processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity. His keen attention to detail and analytical mindset have earned him a reputation as a results-driven professional who consistently delivers high-quality outcomes. Throughout his career, Terence has worked for various manufacturing companies, where he has honed his skills in operations management, supply chain optimization, and quality assurance.
In addition to his technical skills, Terence is known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to excellence. His ability to adapt to new challenges and drive positive change has made him a valuable asset in leading The Smiths Serve LLC. He is a natural leader who inspires and motivates those around him to strive for success. Terence is often referred to as Mr. Positive who is relied upon to deliver the “Word of the Day” on social media.
As a dedicated servant leader, Terence is passionately involved in community service including several men's empowerment groups, the United Way, Habitat for Humanity-Cabarrus County, and other programs demonstrating a profound dedication to making a positive impact beyond his professional sphere. Also, Terence serves alongside his wife, Jill Smith, as co-founders of A God-Ordained Union, a faith-based private foundation serving singles desiring marriage.
